I am sure all of you out there know how it goes... I have been trying to give away a car I put $16K+ into for less than half that and everyone wants it, but no one wants to come up with the cash. I am pretty much just going to keep the car and get some use out of it at this point, but if someone really wants it, they can make a me a realistic offer near $12,500--please, no more looky-lous, tire kickers, or people "waiting for a check." Thanks for all your interest out there! |
Exterior |

I bought this car with an automatic and a blown KA. It was a well-used daily driver. It has dents, dings, lifting cleat coat and looks like a '92 Nissan. It was really oxidized, but I buffed the hell out of it and it is pretty damn shiny now. The pics make the body look better than it really is. Check out the front fender, it is little crinkled and that is good representation of the car, shiny and decent looking, but it has some flaws. I am not trying to downplay the car, just being honest. This car has not been in any major accidents, it is just a little rough from being used for 15 years. But who cares? It's a drift car. I have put alot of work into cleaning it up and it wouldn't take much to make it a show car--just a paint job really. I have already installed a carbon fiber hood and front fascia from Driftworks.

Interior |
|
What interior? This a drift car, interiors are for tow vehicles. I have some of the old interior stuff that will go with the car if you want it, but right now the car has a pair of aftermarket red seats with medium sized side bolsters for good lateral support when sliding the car sideways, so that you don't. They are mounted as low as possible on custom made seat frames. They don't adjust forward or backward and are setup for me--I am 6'2" tall and I fit snuggly in place. The steering wheel is drift specific and extended back so my arms and knees are bent slightly when I am seated, which is ideal for performance driving. Add to that a B&M short shifter (which I have) and you have everything you need for the track. The dash is cracked as they all are. Other than that, the door panels and center console are in decent used shape.

Engine |

SR20DET Red Top, the choice of drifters and speed freaks everywhere. Factory turbocharged and intercooled... mmmmm, tasty. This engine is backed up by an ACT performance clutch.

Suspension |
|
JIC-MAGIC! I can't tell you how many sick 240s I have seen with Skyline engines, turbo upgrades, front-mount intercoolers, AND CRAPPY SUSPENSION!?!? What is up wit that? I mean, I get it, more power is cool and all... But it's no good if you can't use it. Suspension is more important than powe for racing and drifting--how do you think you get the power to the pavement? I have fully adjustable, pillow ball mounts coil overs that are exactly what the pros use. I also have adjustable rear toe control bars, Energy Suspension bushings (every damn one of 'em) as well as Progress Group anti-roll bars and DC Sports strut bars front and rear. THIS CAR HANDLES INCREDIBLY WELL!!! And... it can be setup for drifting, auto cross, or whatever you want to do.

Wheels/Tires |
|
17-inch Konig wheels--black with a polished lip--smothered in Falken Azenis rubber. Just enough grip, but not too much... I chose this 4-lug, 17-inch setup to save money on the 5-lug swap and tires. The brakes have been upgraded all the way around to Fast Brakes complete with steel braided lines.

Performance |
|
SR20DET baby! This is it--the red top powerhouse that all your friends keep raving about. It practically bolts into a 240 and offers 225+ turbocharged horsepower. Mine is stock internally with about 30K miles on it from Japan. What this means to you is that you make 300hp with nothing more than bolt-ons, and this engine will handle it. I have already installed a DC sports header, and Bullet (JIC Magic) exhaust. Frankly this is all the power I need--this thing is FAST!!! It is easy to drift too with plenty of power and a KAAZ limited slip differential to keep both tires spinning at the same time. Drive it like it is to the track or as a dialy driver--this car is totaly reliable with AC and power steering to boot. On the weekends you can attend drift or autocross events. This car is the perfect start for someone trying to get into that scene.

Awards/Coverage |

I wrote the book on drifting--no, seriously... It is called How To Drift: The Art of Oversteer. This is the car I built for chapters 5 and 6 which show how to build a drift car without all the hype--no big wings or neon, just the bare bones necessities for drifting. If you want to see over a hundred detailed pics of this car going together, then go to amazon.com and search drifting. Buy my book for like $16 and see what I mean.
