Arctic Cat 500 and 500 Automatic 4x4s deliver the power
Back again after a successful first year, the 500 4x4 Automatic along with its manual shift counterpart will once again deliver the power in 2001 with more of the same great features you expect from an Arctic Cat ATV.Powered by fully sealed, liquid cooled, four stroke 493cc engines, these two beasts offer added strength and rigidity and maintenance free performance. Qualities that are attributed to a monoblock engine and transmission case design as found in the 500 Automatic and the fully sealed, waterproof engine, transmission and magneto found in the 500 4x4. And whether you're utilizing Arctic Cat's exclusive rocker shifter or Duramatic transmission, these 500 4x4s have torque to spare providing tremendous pulling power and smooth acceleration in any gear. For downhill grades, the Arctic Cat 500 Automatic's self braking engine will keep you in control through your descent. Both 500s offer a start-in-gear feature eliminating the need to shift to neutral before starting the engine. Both front differentials have selectable 4WD or 2WD for easy shifting and steering comfort. Responsive stopping will be provided by Arctic Cat brand, dual piston, hydraulic disk brakes on both front and rear resulting in less maintenance and zero adjustment. Arctic Cat's suspension in these 500s will keep your tires firmly planted in the roughest terrain with fully independent, double A-arm front suspension and semi-independent rear suspension giving you 7.2-inches of travel. Both Arctic Cat's have 9-inches of ground clearance and coil spring over shock absorbers, on all four suspension corners, and constant velocity joints allowing for greater suspension travel. You'll find new boot protectors (stick stoppers) on the front axle providing extra protection in the timber. And for operator clarity, we've added start-in-gear and choke operation decals. The 500 4x4 automatic also receives a reverse over-ride switch. And as always, these ATVs give you plenty of extras, like 300 lb. combined rack capacity, and a towing capacity of 1050 lbs., a full-length plastic skid plate, dual 12v accessory plugs, axle mounted hitch and full floor boards. 500 4x4 - MSRP $6,349 USA / $8,349 CAN
