| I am selling my 1947 Mercury Convertible. 5.8L/351 -- 360 HP GT-40 ALUMINUM HEAD FORD RACING PERFORMANCE CRATE ENGINE. Painted in a base clear candy apple red with chameleon color change ghost flames running down the hood and fenders.The body of the car has undergone numerous modifications including chopping the top, molding the front bumper, shaving the door handles, frenching the headlights, the addition of hood vents along the sides, custom made rear fender skirts, frenched 59 Cadillac taillights and a third brake light molded into the trunk lid. The car is fitted with a Carson lift off top, very light weight and easy to remove for cruising under the sun. The interior is finished in red leather trimmed with dark grey piping on the power adjustable seats and compliment the exterior nicely. AutoMeter gauges including oil pressure, water temp, volts, fuel and speed housed in a smoothed dash painted the same candy apple red as the body. Under the dash is a console with a CD player and a tachometer. Engine has been dressed up with aluminum valve covers, sparkplug wire holders, chrome alternator, chrome A/C pump, billet pulleys, chrome flex hoses, billet overflow tank and the engine is topped with a polished Edelbrock four barrel carburetor and air filter. The engine is hooked to a C-6 three speed automatic transmission that runs to a 10 bolt rear-end. Car rides on air with the compressors and tank tucked behind a panel in the trunk. Other options on this include Heat and A/C (need hoses ran and coil), removable top, power brakes, power steering (disc in the front), power seats, power windows, tilt/telescopic steering wheel, keyless entry, ride control, leather interior, white wall tires, and aluminum/alloy rims. I'm positive I am leaving plenty out. I can't explain the bad ass feeling you get while driving this car. My favorite is having the top off cruisin the back roads. The Merc gets crazy looks. Has plenty of power for a heavy car. People walk out onto the street to take pictures as i drive by or as they drive by. The cam gives the car a classic hot rod sound. Gets everyone's attention. Be prepared to talk about to the car every single place you go. The paint is unbelievable; has minor imperfections not visible to the average onlooker.
